• Question: do you know any of the other scientist ... if you do does this make it hard going up against them and competing with them ?

      No, this is the first time I have ever be in contact with any of the other people in the zone. Everyone seems very nice!

      No I don’t know any of them but they all seem really nice so would love to meet them all in real life!

      I met Panos once before, at a conference in America about 10 or 12 years ago. He seems like a nice guy, but it makes no difference when it comes to a competition. The others seem pretty cool people too!
      A bit of friendly rivalry makes it all the more fun.

      Hi lornad,

      I know of Mark but I don’t know any of the other scientists. I am sure they are all very good indeed but we work in different areas and we don’t compete with each other. There are many outstanding scientists in my field and it is very difficult to compete against them. I would rather change competition to collaboration.That way we can do more important things and get to have fun all of us.

      I don’t know any of the other scientists…but i do think that £500 in the gambia would probably do more good that £500 to me and my studnets much as i hope we win
