• Question: Do you think people should not be so obsessive about hand bacterial spray and things like that or do you believe they are right to be decreasing the risk of alot of bad bacteria getting into their bodies?

A little bit of dirt is not a bad thing but too much dangerous bacteria is obviously bad, don’t get obsessive but keep clean. If a biscuit drops on the floor then you can pick it up and eat it usually!

      HI Gemma,
Washing your hands is important for basic hygiene, it stops you getting infections and passing them on to others. Unfortunately, thanks to advertising and bad reporting in some newspapers, things are getting way over the top. All you need for everyday cleanliness in the home is soap and water. So long as you wash your hands after going to the loo, coughing and sneezing and before handling fresh food, you will generally be OK. Our bodies need some bacteria to work properly. Hand sprays can be useful when you are out and about if you think you’ve touched something nasty. Basically, people should be sensible rather than obsessive.

People should try and keep a good level of personal hygeine but not get obsessed with all these sprays and gels that are available.

Some people are ceratinly obsessive about this. just normal hygiene habits should be fine. No need to overdo it. however, when one goes into hospital wards with sick people it is best to take additional care and over-clean your hands just to make 1000% sure you don’t carry any small number of harmful bacteria that could be dangerous to sick and weak people.

I think in hospitals absoultely hand spray to prevent bacteria that are harmless to healthy people ( visitors) getting into people with weak immune systems( patients)

washing powder that kills bacteria on your sheets puzzles me, as assoon as you touch the sheet again you shed more bacteria onto it.
things like that play on the fears people have about ddisease, and i beleiev are unfair
