      Hello to all of you.

From what I remember way back in the 1970’s (gosh I am getting too old) I was reading a newspaper article about this up and coming new science called Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. I was always interested about the living world and used to be obsessed with science documentaries. I read about DNA and proteins in that article and wondered what are these things and how do they work. The idea about studying them further came into my mind but there was no Biochemistry degree course in Greece at that time and then when the time came for me to go to University I decided to come to the UK to study Biochemistry.

I always have to know how things work, the more complex the better, living things are no different.
I was inspired by David Attenborough and his series ‘Life on Earth’ when I was a kid, that’s when I first learned about evolution, I was fascinated. My first Biology teacher, Dr Pearson, was such a great teacher I couldn’t fail to have become interested in Biology. Now I just want my science to have an impact and improve people’s lives, no matter how small that impact may be.

I also have the type of brain that snags things and gets me to remember them..i think thats good for scienec putting different ideas togther

Just a love of discovering new things, and the thrill of learning about how we work….. biology is just the most amazing thing, I learn new things all the time that still amaze me.
