• Question: how come we cant sleep with our eyes open ?

      Because the eyes get dried and are prone to infections. It is a kind of defense mechanism to protect our vision.

      It’s to keep your eyes moist and rubbish, like dirt and bugs, out. It also allows your eyes to rest otherwise they’d get really sore.

      I think some people can, can’t they? At least for a short time. You need to blink at least once in a while to moisten the eyeballs and keep them protected.

      too much sensory information still impacting on our brain..just like its hard to sleep if its too noisy. To switch parts of your brain to sleep mode you need to have nothing for them to focus on

      Because we need to keep our eyes wet at all times which is why we blink so much.
