I know exactly what you mean, but first, not all dinosaurs are extinct, we still have crocodiles and the evidence demonstrates that Birds evolved from dinosaurs. So you can argue with, some justification, that they are still with us.

As for the 99.9% of dinosaurs we no longer see around us, the best evidence is for a large meteor impact around 65 million years ago having had the greatest effect, though there may have been other additional factors involved. Furthermore, many species had evolved and become extinct long before then.

No expert, but probably a big metorite triggered changes that killed them off.

The thories say because of an asteroid impact that devastated most of living life. They were too big and awkward and not adapted very well to survive the climatic changes that followed for several years after the asteroid impact.

The most common theory is the asteroid theory based on the fact there was an asteroid collison about 65 milion years ago that would have wiped out the dinasours quickly rather than over a period of time. However some scientists disagree with this and think the dinasours had been extinct before this time.
      I don’t know!
