      Hi,
I would love to say that with the £500 I will be able to make great breakthroughs in investigating the immune system. But this would not be true. Doing scientific research is very expensive! For example, to do a three year project we are currently doing, we have over half a million pound awarded to us to do the work!
So, the £500 will be used to set up ways of informing and educating students and the general public about the immune system. Specifically, we run courses to get students into the University so we can introduce them to what we do and why it is important. This kind of thing is very popular, and will stimulate students to continue learning about science (and become the next generation of scientific reserachers!).
