• Question: instead of using the money for a open day at the local community in Gambia why dont you use the money for medication to be transported over there for disadvantaged children with illnesses?

because the organisers of this event won’t let me. We have to spend the money on something that is associated with science communication , otherwise I woudl have suggested paying for a Gambian student to go to a conference in the UK which I think would be excellent value for the money. Spending it on drugs woul not help the gambia in the long run. Lots of aid agencies give money and it is not spent in a way that will help the community in the long term. helping a student get educated is the best value for money but the organisers were particular about this.
