      Not as yet no…well there are two things to look at…Poepl die when they have AIDS from infections that normally they would have shrugged off…so bacteria and fungi ( which rarely cause serious disease outside of AIDS) can infect due to the damaged immune system an cause enough damage to be fatal…Now these inefctions can be treated with antibiotics if caught early enough..so the sendary infections can be cured..if caught before they sread through the body.

      Now HIV the virus that destroys the immune system..or at least a big chuck of it can be stopped from replicating..but it mutates so fast you need to hit it with 5-7 different agents all targetting a different part because it will muaute to surviev 2 agents..but the remaining 3-5 are enough to stop it. Reduce the drug treatments and you get it being resistant to all fo the agents and the immune systems starts to be attacked.

      so at thje moemnt it is still very harsh chemotherapy to keep the virus down and rapid treatement of any secodary infections
