In my work, it was discovering how a particular bacteria stops itself getting mutations and having the work published in one of the top journals.
In my personal life, the birth of my daughter after four years of IVF treatment.

Best day in work (well, I was actually at home, but checking work stuff) was discovering a paper I had submitted had been accpted to be published in Nature, which is one of the best places to get your work published in the world. We had been working so hard for a couple of years on a project, and it made everything worth while that so many people were going to learn about what we had done!
Best day(s) out of work were the births of my two daughters- very surreal and overwhelming.

Getting my sheep cloning work published in Nature Biotechnology, a high profile journal – worth all the effort!
Outside work – finishing the New York Marathon in 2001!, unfortunately I don’t have children yet, but am pregnant just now – maybe this time next year I would join the others in saying it was the best thing in my life too!
