I think MarkT is better to answer this! As far as I am aware there are very few bacteria that can survive in the stomach acidic environment however some bacteria that do get into the stomach like H. pylori can cause stomach ulcers.

There is one that can live in our stomachs called Heliobacter pylori, our stomach is where it prefers to live, but it can give us ulcers. Other bacteria have been found that belong to the groups Proteobacteria, Firmicutes, Actinobacteria, Bacteroidetes and Fusobacteria.

bacteria doesn’t do very well in our stomachs as it is vey acidic. There are around 100 trillion bacteria in our lower intestines though- collectively they are called the ‘microflora’, and are made up of a load of different species of bacteria.

      Wally95,

Bacteria do not survive well in the stomach because of the acid that exists there. Helicobacter pylori is abacterium that survives in the stomach and can cause stomach ulcers leading to stomach cancer.
