• Question: why do christians believe that god created the world when its ben proved by SCIENCE that it was created by the big bang

      Everyone is free to believe what they like. If you really want to know, why people dismiss scientific evidence you should ask them, I couldn’t possibly answer on their behalf. All I want is that people are nice to each other and do not get upset when someone disagrees with them. Instead they should present their evidence and let people make up their own minds. It’s when people try to impose their beliefs on others that conflict arises.

      Hi adam,

      This is a big phylosophical argument. I would not say that the big bang theory has solved this argument. if that’s so then one could ask and who created the big bang, and what was before the big bang? Science is not necessarily contradicting religion. The two are separate and should not be confused. Perhaps science uses experiments and physical proof to formulate theorems and explain things but religion relies more on belief of spiritual events and the spiritual world that is sometimes more difficult to explain with science alone.

      Both science and religion have a lot to give to the human race.

      This is because everyone has the choice to believe what they wish. I believe in evolution , even though I don’t understand every part of what the process has acheived ( bats?)
      Most of science is theories that fit the facts, but can be altered and rethought when new evidence is uncovered
      Science is very fluid, but i am always wary of people who KNOW things…much prefer people who BELIEVE ..but do not know..whether thats religion OR science

      Well, everyone is entitled to believe what they want. You are right that there is scientific evidence to back up the Big Bang theory, but no scientific evidence to prove that God created the world. But if people want to believe in this, that is fair enough I guess.
      What does annoy me is when my life is affected by people who do believe. For example, I can’t do my shopping after 4pm on a Sunday, because laws based on religious beliefs say the shops need to shut…….I don’t think laws that affect everyone should be based on religious beliefs that a lot of people don’t hold
